March's Moments

Spring is almost here and the summer birds are arriving!  I saw a robin the first week of March and a butterfly the next week while walking the dog on a sunny, 40 degree day.  I must remember to pause our brisk walks and capture such moments with a picture.

My spring daffodills and tulips seem to be a bit later than previous springs due to the many below zero days last month.  Perhaps they are awaiting their glorious displays on Easter this year which is still a little more than three weeks away.

The Ram Fam enjoyed our March get-together on Saint Patty's Day this month.

Eating, of course, is always one of the Ram Fam's favorite things to do when we're all together.   So I got busy making some of our family favorites with an Irish twist.  First up... Grandma Janet Ramsay's Butter Sugar Cookies cut in shamrock shapes.

The cookies were accompanied by Grandma "Mimi" Casey's Lime/Pineapple punch and anxiously awaited the kids and grandkids arrival.

Meanwhile, the Instant-Pot was hissing away with an Irish Beef Stew which had a splash of Guinness Extra Stout from Dublin, Ireland!  It was just the kick to tenderize the beef and provide a rich, thick and hearty gravy.

Holly made a delicious Chicken Alfredro with green spinach noodles, Girl Taylor made a fresh, green Leprechan Fruit Salad containing apples, pears, green grapes, and kiwi as well as St. Patty's Day Puppy Chow which was all super delish!  Kirsti brought some more yummy St. Patty's Day cookies and Holiday Crunch!  It was a fun feast!

Entertainment soon followed.

As Chris and I slowly purge the contents of our four story home, our March get-together was all about pictures!   Twenty-five years ago when we purchased the house, each of our four kids were assigned a large, built-in storage drawer in the craft room to store childhood momentos and photos.  So this month, each kid sorted through their drawer of pictures and keepsakes and decided what to keep or throw away.

What a hoot and holler it was as the kids dug through their memories.   Duplicate photos were traded with siblings.  Many stories were re-told.  Baby pictures were compared with grandkids photos for family resemblances.

We all wonder ... will baby Ryker look like his daddy, Ryan?  In about three months, we'll know!

It was a fun day filled with many laughs and memories ... and with God's continued blessings, many more memories are yet to be made!
