Wow, What A Dream!

Is anyone else having intense dreams during these pandemic times?  I certainly am and so is my husband.  Many are disjointed and make no sense at all.  We often can't remember all the details to share, but know it was intense, crazy or weird.  However, on rare occasions, a dream is so vivid with remembered details that we can't wait to analyze its meaning and purpose.  I had such a dream last week. In my dream, I was traveling alone in an airport.  I remember immediately questioning why I was alone and without my husband who has always been my traveling companion - at least the last twenty years of our forty years together.  Oh, I get it, (or so I thought in my dream's beginning) this dream was going to take me back to a time when I often traveled alone for a corporate management position I held during my twenties and thirties.  But nope.  I was made to realize right away (and with great importance) I was my current age in the dream.  A rabbit trail threatened to interrupt

Look For The Fruit

Image
God's candy.  That's how our youngest son, Austin, deliciously described sun-warmed, fresh picked strawberries as sweet juice trickled down his little chin.   I savor that precious mama memory every year during picking season. As we patiently waited to pick the ruby red "candy" this year, we were reminded of God's faithfulness, goodness, and delicious joy for such a time as this. "Look for the fruit," the Lord always whispers as I seek His guidance throughout my days.  It's all around us ... if we pause and look.   Let the fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control be your trusted guide, especially during this difficult season of 2020. My 2020 Inspiration

God-Time this morning included the following devotional message for January 7th.  In this new year season of reflection and response, I pray and strive for my life to display the beauty and unwavering trust in Him as written below by L. B. Cowman. "I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances." ~ Philippians 4:11 Paul, while being denied every comfort, wrote the above words from a dark prison cell. A story is told of a king who went to his garden one morning, only to find everything withered and dying.  He asked the oak tree that stood near the gate what the trouble was.  The oak said it was tired of life and determined to die because it was not tall and beautiful like the pine tree.  The pine was troubled because it could not bear grapes like the grapevine.  The grapevine was determined to throw its life away because it could not stand erect and produce fruit as large as peaches.  The geranium was fretting because it was not tall and fragrant like the lilac.

The Meaning of Grace

A beautiful explanation ... For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast.    – Ephesians 2:8-9

March's Moments

Image
Spring is almost here and the summer birds are arriving!  I saw a robin the first week of March and a butterfly the next week while walking the dog on a sunny, 40 degree day.  I must remember to pause our brisk walks and capture such moments with a picture. My spring daffodills and tulips seem to be a bit later than previous springs due to the many below zero days last month.  Perhaps they are awaiting their glorious displays on Easter this year which is still a little more than three weeks away. The Ram Fam enjoyed our March get-together on Saint Patty's Day this month. Eating, of course, is always one of the Ram Fam's favorite things to do when we're all together.   So I got busy making some of our family favorites with an Irish twist.  First up... Grandma Janet Ramsay's Butter Sugar Cookies cut in shamrock shapes. The cookies were accompanied by Grandma "Mimi" Casey's Lime/Pineapple punch and anxiously awaited the kids and grandkids a

Welcome 2019!

The new year has arrived on several joyful notes for the Ramsay family. We welcomed two daughters-in-law and a six year old grandson to the Ram Fam last year ... AND ... we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of a grandson (grandchild #5) next summer! And so, the circle of life continues on from when two people fell in love 40 years ago. Happy 4th of July!

The Ramsay family almost always celebrated the 4th camping when the kids were growing up.   Manapogo Park was (and still is) our favorite place to camp.  It boasts a large fishing and ski lake, beautiful sandy beach as well as activities and tournaments scheduled by the park staff.   Swimming, sun bathing, fishing, banana bikes, Friday night BINGO, and campfire cooking entertained the kids while encouraging Chris and I to escape our hectic work schedules and join their fun in the great outdoors. We camped often each summer, not just on the 4th.   Many tents and a pop-up camper were retired as our family grew.  We also learned to stay packed-up in colored, categorized storage tubs for grab and go weekend escapes.  It was fun and cheap entertainment for our large family and created many fond memories. Here's a clip from the Mom Archives of one 4th of July holiday over twenty years ago! Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living
